Good thoughts, Tab. This site is a no fear zone. Share away...

Fear is paralyzing for a lot of us. Yet God reminds us that he's here. Even if circumstances are bad or don't change, knowing we're not alone is more comforting than the situations themselves going away. If they always did, we'd just fear about when the next one would come anyways.

So, let's be done with the fear thing. We have the Holy Spirit. Why are we so scared? If it were only that easy, eh? Funny how we know truth, yet make our feelings our reality. Here's to changing that. We'll need some help... :)

I read this a few days ago and it has been something the Lord has been tugging on my heart about. I did a study on Esther recently and one of the sessions was talking about this exact thing. Esther had to face the fear of death and the man who wanted her and her people dead, Haman, by approaching King Xerxes when she was not summoned. She had to step out in faith in order to speak up and request that her life as well as others would be saved.

Fear and worry happen to be one of my biggest struggles. Fear is what has kept me up at night when my husband is working. Worrying about the opinions of others is what keeps me from speaking up on blogs like this and has caused me to hold back with my worship in song. The study that I did said that the most frequent command in the bible is "Don't be afraid", I have yet to research this but think that it may be pretty close.

When fear and worry begin to take over in my life I cling on to the promises that God has made and remember the He is the same God that is in the old testament and new. Here are a few scriptures that are encouraging to me.

1 John 4:18
Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love.

John 16:33
"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world!"

Isaiah 41:10
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.

Psalm 56:3-4
When I am afraid, I will trust in you. In God, whose word I praise, in God I trust; I will not be afraid. What can mortal man do to me?

2 Timothy 1:7
For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.

Thank you for letting me share and I am ready to join in on this resolution

Good Stuff! Always good to hear a message drawing us closer to the Father to start the new year out right. I heard some great advice the other day about this thing called worry. This girl said, "Every morning I'm born, throughout the day I live and then when I fall asleep I die ~ the next day to be born again." Life is too short to worry. Simply trust and walk. We sure can learn a lot from Peter's waterwalk. Much Love, GP
